Teaching of the Theoretical Course "Genetic Immunology" to International Students in Both Offline and Online Formats by Dr. Arzoo Sayad
Since the same group of international students had previously attended the three-credit course "Human Genetics" in person during the first semester of the 1404–1405 academic year, a deeper understanding of their learning abilities, strengths, and weaknesses had already been established. Building upon this experience, the course "Genetic Immunology" was offered during the current semester (second semester of the 1404–1405 academic year).Despite various challenges and limitations, a substantial portion of the course was successfully delivered online through a domestic messaging platform with satisfactory quality. In total, 17 course topics in Genetic Immunology were covered. These included subjects such as the genetic structure and function of immunoglobulins, the genetics of B and T lymphocytes, the complement system, genetic structure, function and diversity, as well as genetic disorders associated with the HLA gene region and the selection of appropriate endogenous and exogenous factors involved in immune responses. The course was conducted by Dr. Arzoo Sayad, a respected faculty member of the Department of Genetics, with the aim of enhancing students' theoretical knowledge and understanding of the genetic basis of immune system function and related disorders.
